Smart shopping guide
This guide explains how to use the current SmartSalla value: comparing the same product across multiple stores while understanding the current price, old price and offer scope.
1. Compare the same product across stores
SmartSalla core value is comparing the same product when it appears in more than one retailer. When a comparison page is available or a product page shows multiple stores, focus on the current price in each store to identify the lowest available price.
The current comparison does not automatically normalize different pack sizes or calculate unit price per litre/kilogram, so it is best used as a direct comparison only when the products truly match.
2. Verify the product match before relying on the comparison
Before making a decision, confirm that the name, brand and size or count are the same. If two listings differ in weight or pack size, treat them as different products even if the image or title looks similar.
Where more precise identifiers such as barcodes or variant names exist, they are more reliable than comparing by image alone.
3. Understand current price, old price and discount percentage
When a current price appears with an old price or discount percentage, it helps you understand the reduction within that retailer. For buying decisions, however, the most important step is comparing the current price of the exact same product across available retailers.
A product may show a large discount in one store but still end up more expensive than another store. Always focus on the final current price first.

Some deals apply nationwide, while others are specific to a city or even a single branch. Start and end dates are also important to confirm whether the deal is still active when you view it.
A lower price in another retailer may not help if the deal applies to a different city or branch than your current location.
5. When SmartSalla is most useful
SmartSalla is most useful when you want to identify the cheapest retailer for the same product, follow active offers in your city, and review multiple retailers before buying instead of relying on a single flyer.
If you notice an inaccurate comparison, you can share the product link, retailer name and city so it can be reviewed and improved.
